High School Seniors Who Played in McLean Little League:
The McLean Little League Board of Directors has established the Terry Mahony Scholarship Fund to honor two graduating high school seniors who played in McLean Little League. Terry Mahony was a long time coach and supporter of McLean Little League who passed away in 1999. Shortly after Terry’s death, the League established the Terry Mahony Memorial Golf Tournament in his honor. A portion of the proceeds from the golf tournament will be used to provide two scholarships each year. The Scholarship Fund will recognize a boy and girl who played Little League baseball and softball, respectively, at McLean Little League
Each scholarship will be $2,500 and will be sent by McLean Little League to the recipient’s college to be applied to their freshmen fall semester expenses. The winners of the two scholarships will be announced at closing ceremonies on June 16, 2011.
The Selection Committee will use the following criteria in making their selection. The applicant must have played baseball or softball in McLean Little League, must have a good academic record and must have been involved in community service during his/her high school years.
